I’m female, 22. 5′7". 148lbs.

Do you think limiting total fat intake to 15 grams total per day will help in weight loss? Of those 15 a large majority will be poly and monounsaturated. No trans. Maybe 5 g Saturated at most.
Other things will obviously be taken into consideration too like calories, grams of sugar, etc. but I’m just wondering about the fat right now.

Not at all. Most people don’t realize that you need fat to burn fat. Diets lacking fat decrease testosterone production, which decreases the amount of androgens circulating in the blood.

This signals the hypothalamus (endocrine gland located in the brain) to slow down metabolic rate, which ultimately reduces fatty acid oxidation. Another thing, saturated fat in is HEALTHY, despite what many believe. If you don’t believe me, research it. If you do good research and get down to the roots of this theory, you’ll see it was a load of BS.

15 grams of fat really is not healthy at all, especially for females. As mentioned above, you NEED fat to burn fat, as well as for several other important bodily functions, such as warmth, protection of vital organs, and strengthening the immune system.

Unless you are a serious athlete or bodybuilding, proper fat intake should be 30% of your caloric intake, if you are bodybuilding or a serious athlete it should be around 20%.

One gram of fat is equivalent to 9 calories. So to calculate how many grams of fat you should be having, multiply your caloric intake by 0.30 (this is 30%, because it should be 30% of the intake, assuming you aren’t a serious athlete or bodybuilding).

This gives you the amount of calories of fat you should be having. Then divide this by 9 (one gram of fat is 9 calories), and this is how many grams of fat your diet should consist of.

For example, if you were on a diet of 2,000 calories, multiply by 0.30 to get 600. Divide this by 9 and you get 66.6 repeating, which you can round to 67. So a person on a 2,000 calorie diet should be getting about 67 grams of fat per day.

I like to drink a cup of coffee in the morning, this with 10 calori per table spoon creamer, no sugar, and I like to add 2 and a half tablespoons o sugar.
At night, after i walk an hour and jump rop for 15 minutes, I like to sit down with a hot cup of green tea with also 2 and a half tablespoons of sugar.
Sugar gives me energy…is this a bad thing to do? Will I be fine or will this somehow affect my fat loss plan?
I am 22, female, and also do strength training. i am not big, but just wish to tone up some.

Green tea is really good for you. It has antioxadints and stuff that will help boost metabolism and help aid weight loss. But it will be most effective when combined with exercise, which you are doing. I wouldn’t worry too much about the sugar unless your diabetic. And if your moving around a lot everyday, its not going to hurt you. the body needs small amounts of natural sugar anyways. And also with strentgh training, your body will use up sugar in the body so you need not to worry. Im a female and I do strength training as well 5 days a week, usually heavy training and if I do not have enough sugar in my body, I get very faint.

for a female. why?

I can only answer from my own experience, when doing low fat, Always hungry slow wt loss. when doing low carb hardly ever hungry faster wt loss.
