First off, don’t underestimate yourself – you can probably do more than you think! But for starters, just moving more will help. If you can get out and walk, that is ideal. If that’s not an option, try a beginners yoga class or a yoga video you can do at home. Yoga is gentle and calm, and can be done by people of any fitness level.
Just move – clean your house, play with kids or pets, dance to the music, or step in place during commercials. Anything to raise your heart rate a little. Good luck losing the weight – it’s SO worth it!

I want something relatively simple that doesn’t require big workout equipment. I know of sit-ups and that’s about it. Help please? ![]()
firstly losing weight comes from good eating and regular exercise.
i shall start with good eating. To lose weight and maintain a healthy digestive system and overall body you need to consume at least 5 servings of fruit. so instead of having a milo, or sugary/fatty cereals have:
Breakfast- Low fat natural yoghurt (try greek ) with freshly chopped strawberries, blueberries and mango or what ever tickles your fancy. Sprinkle some oats over the top and away you go. Not only will you feel fuller but you will also find yourself feeling happier and less unhealthy. Like the feeling you get after eating McDonalds.
You also need a variety of fish, chicken and leafy vegetables. So for lunch try something like
Lunch: A tuna/chicken sandwhich, on wholemeal/wholegrain bread NO WHITE with some spinach or lettuce. Slices of tomato and onion. A little bit of dressing, mayonaise or whatever. but keep it to a minimun.
And you definitely need vegetables and red meat. So for dinner try..
Dinner: A medium to medium rare steak, the size of your fist no bigger. Do not add salt to the meat add pepper! Boil some water and put a steamer over it, chop up some carrot throw in some green beans, some broccoli, squash or whatever vegetable you like. You should notice a nice fresh feeling even after the first day.
Weightloss does not work without exercise. Over exercising is bad espicially if you don’t usually exercise try off by doing this maybe
When you wake up go for a short 15 minute run or walk.
do pilates or yogalates.
eat breakfast
if possible squeeze in some additional exercises, like another walk.
after lunch do 20 situps, the ones where you reach your elbow to your opposite knee. 20 squats. 10 push-ups. And follow that by a good 5-10 minutes of stretching.
after dinner maybe take the dog if you have one for a long walk about 1 hour. Do some more situps or pilates.
and you should definately see some changes in the first week, mentally and two weeks physically.
Make sure to drink pleaty of water 8 glasses or more a day. take a drink bottle everywhere. even to work or school or uni or tafe or the movies or to lunch.
i hope you succeed in your weightloss. do not try any extreme dieting do it naturally and healthy and you won’t look like a lollipop you’ll look toned and gorgeous.
GOODLUCK!
xx
let me know how it goes!!!

I’m weighing 175-180, and currently this has been bothering me. I’ve made a commitment to get into shape and turn my life around. The only problem is that gym memberships are quite expensive and I don’t exactly have the money to buy gym equipment for my home. What exercises would you suggest to lose weight? I would really like to target the belly, thigh, and biceps area. I’m not exactly able to purchase many things, but if necessary, I will, as long as it doesn’t come out too costly. Hopefully someone has some really interesting idea.
Running, Bicycling, and Swimming are all excellent aerobic exercises which will help bleed off weight and basically tone your whole body.
For your thighs + Calves I would recommend buying a jump rope, (approximately $6) and say start working at 50 reps then when you feel comfortable move up to a 100 then 150 and so on.
For your belly Crunches Situps and Leg Lifts all help strengthen the abdomible muscles, and are free.
For Biceps, you need to get some weights, push ups are a great way to start and so are pull ups but in my opinion to be effective you need some weights a good pair of standard hand weights say 40 pounds and the bars will only run you about $35 and is a great way to start. Try to do between 8 to 10 reps with about 8 to 10 sets and work into the weights don’t try and be hercules and hurt yourself that’ll just set you back. Curls and presses are good exercises for your biceps.
Good luck, and stick in there the results will come.
One more thing, try craigslist, or classifieds to see if you can pick up simple weight sets on the cheap, many people will let them go for pennies on the dollar to get rid of them. My Weight Bench $5 my curl bar $8 50lbs of weight $5 from various garage sales.

I honestly wasn’t a big exerciser before I got pregnant. I would get on my Wii Fit 3-5 times a week and do mostly yoga and some strength training.Otherwise my exercises all came from chasing my toddler around and doing housework.
I gained a bit of weight during my last pregnancy and lost all but 20 pounds of it.
I want to know what I can do while pregnant to tone up and lose weight that’s safe for me and the baby.
Thanks in advance!
