As I enter the midlife period I, like many other men, start to look closely at health and fitness issues. I, like many other men entering into middle age, start with concerns about weight and how best to approach fat loss, i.e. a change in diet, a weight loss exercise regime, or perhaps integrate the 2.
As I write it becomes clear that one is not really going to achieve any real sustainable health and fitness goals alone. So it has to be diet and exercise and not simply either or!
When I refer to weight loss and maintaining good health, what I mean is a total change in lifestyle choices. I, like many others, didn’t become overweight by careful eating and lots of regular exercise. So I’ll not be going ‘on’ a diet that will at some point see me coming ‘off’ it. No, my diet will refer to what types of food I eat and knowing what I don’t.
I am particularly interested in issues relating to the pH balance in the human body, as it seems that with a diet that is based on the alkaline food chart not only gets people into good shape, but it gives them lots of energy and a super immune system just daring any illnesses to try and inflict.
This is my New Year’s plan for 2012. Whoever you are, wherever you may be, may you too start to take better care of yourself in the future.
