There are so many weight loss pills these days you could lose weight just walking down drugstore aisles filled with them. There are all these approaches, ones that contain appetite suppressors, ones that encourage your body to lose water, and others that give you a lot of caffeine. It’s difficult to choose the one best weight loss pill out there, jast as it is difficult to find out if any of them will actually hurt you. You can’t even believe the ones that say they are all-herbal: the FDA threw out a number of herbal imports from India recently for having dangerous levels of heavy metal in them, possibly left over from a poorly thought-out purification process. The FDA says that some herbal products, both home-grown and imported, even neglect to list all the ingredients on the label. The FDA also shut down Hydroxycut, the popular weight-loss pill, for causing liver damage. The label can be a scam too; if the product is listed as a dietary supplement and not a weight-loss aid, they can get away with no proper label and no FDA certification.

What happens if you turn down the over-the-counter route in favor of the prescription one? That one’s not such a great idea either. Scientists have been at it for more than a hundred years now, and every one of those drugs they came up with is banned today. Amphetamines were banned because they were addictive, FenPhen caused heartfelt irregularities. Accomplia brings in seizures and suicidal tendencies the back door – you get the idea. No one is giving up though; so the best weight loss pill might be the one that is just round the corner. They call it Lorcaserin. The drug is still in clinical trials, and is said to have passed two rounds of them. The final round could be over and done with in a month.

How does Lorcaserin work then? The best weight loss pill concepts out there have traditionally tried to act by targeting serotonin receptors in the brain. For many kinds of receptors, the problem was finding a drug that could target exactly the right one, the one called 2c. Lorcaserin does exactly this, and the side effects, heart function and brain function, have been tested to be first class.It is shaping up to be a real wonder drug. In the trial rounds, people on the drug lost about 8 pounds at three months; those on a placebo lost nearly nothing at all. In groups that took higher doses, a 5% weight loss was easily seen. Cholesterol levels were down as well.

No one knows how this new drug will pan out. Now if only there was a drug that could get people to be more enthusiastic about exercise, about turning down dessert more often, if there were pills for some kind of self-control, those could be the best weight loss pills.

One of the many dilemmas people face in this world concerns their weight. Although not too many people will tell you that they wish they could pack on 50 pounds, countless men and women would like to drop 50 pounds. Of course this is 50 pounds of excess body fat. The kind of weight that can cause you trouble as you age. Not only can being overweight damage your self-esteem, but it can wreak havoc on your body overall. The heart and other essential organs were not meant to take the stress caused by excessive amounts of body fat. The question on the mind of many women and men is what weight loss exercise program is right for me. This is an excellent question and the answer will naturally very from individual to individual. You see, everyone is different, and many people require different levels of assistance with weight reduction. While one woman may be striving to drop a few pounds, her husband might need to shed a whopping 30. These two people may require different approaches to weight loss in order for it to be effective. However, before you move forward with any type of weight loss exercise program, you need to make certain you are serious about shedding unwanted body fat. Cheating will only hurt you.

You will simply lounge around instead.

Avoid foods high in sugar, fat, and sodium if you really want to lose weight and keep it off. These foods are addictive, but they do not benefit your body in any way. Sure, they are fun to eat, but they also lead you to an early grave. No one wants that. Focus on a solid weight loss exercise program, lean meats, plenty of produce, and a significant amount of water each day. Adopting these simple practices will aid you with weight loss, and will make you a happier, more confident individual.

One of my favorite television shows to watch is NBC’s “The Biggest Loser.” It’s a show about gigantically fat people who are sent to a farm to compete to lose the most weight. I’m not a fan of reality shows by any stretch, but this one sucks me in every time.

Why? Because it debunks the myth of fast easy weight loss.

You see, there’s no such thing as fast easy weight loss. If you want to lose weight easily, you can do it by cutting down the amount of calories you take in. But that won’t be fast. If you want to lose weight fast, you can do that and exercise a whole bunch. But that won’t be easy.

And that’s what’s great about The Biggest Loser. It shows these people – some of them nearly 500 pounds – working their asses off trying to burn as much as they can. Sometimes, usually right at the start, they drop ten pounds of more in a week. But many, many times, these people won’t lose any weight at all. In spite of working out daily. In spite of eating a healthy, balanced diet.

Because there’s no such thing as fast easy weight loss.

I know a thing or two about weight loss, having dropped twenty pounds in the past year. How’d I do it? By exercising five times a week and watching what I eat.

My exercise regimen is simple. I ride a stationary big anywhere from ten to fifteen miles a day, five days a week. I do one-hundred push-ups and one-hundred sit-ups. And I have two little ten pound dumbells that I use for curls and tricep exercises. I don’t have an athlete’s body, but I do have muscles and definition for the first time in my life.

My diet was similarly low-impact and common sense based. I cut out anything that was processed and loaded with preservatives. You don’t need to do anything radical like the Atkins diet or other nonsense; all you need to do is look at the ingredients. If it has stuff like “Xanthan gum,” put it back.

I also kept snacks out of the house, with the exception of raw almonds and baby carrots. And I made sure to have a salad at least five times a week, while eating only one serving of meat per day. By doing this I went from 195 to 175 pounds, dropped my cholesterol 70 points and feel better about myself than I ever have.

Was it fast easy weight loss? No, but I know for a fact that it’s weight that will stay off.
